Psoriasis is an immune-mediated disease that causes raised, red, scaly patches to appear on the skin that are itchy and sometimes painful. It is a very common skin condition that speeds up the life cycle of skin cells.
Psoriasis is a chronic disease that often comes and goes. There is no cure for psoriasis as such, but only symptoms can be managed. The main goal of treatment is to stop the skin cells from growing so quickly and quitting smoking and reducing stress can also help in the management.
